Good morning to one and all present here, Today I _____________ am here to share my views on the topic ‘When We Heal the Earth We Heal Ourselves’.

1 Our Earth is the most beautiful planet in our solar system. As far as we know, Earth is the only planet in this universe where we get all the necessary requisites of life. No other planet has oceans, other life forms, and enough oxygen to comfortably breathe. Our planet is truly a magnificent place, but the healthy survival is possible for years and years only when we maintain the original condition of the earth.

2. Healing the Earth, our Mother, is something that is more urgent than ever and, hopefully, it is not too late. It is; however, very much true that by healing Mother Earth we will also be healing ourselves and society. Long ago, people used to adopt themselves in a way that could not harm the environment .We used to grow trees, travel long distances on feet but now the scenario has been changed, power of technology and science has enabled the man to exploit the earth for selfish and indiscriminate use.


3. Man has gone in for wholesale destruction of species, often because some were interfering with his activities, while others were exploited to the brink of extinction or to extinction. The same has been done with the Earth's resources, whether it be wood, minerals, etc. and in the pursuit of profit from those sources entire areas have been clear felled and otherwise destroyed and/or poisoned.
We are forgetting that earth does not belong to us, we belong to earth. Today, what we are doing is we cut the tree, make a paper and then write on the same paper “Save the Earth”. Isn’t it foolish .Yes, it is foolish.
I have come to believe that the physical destruction of the earth extends to us, too. If we live in an environment that's wounded--where the water is polluted, the air is filled with soot and fumes, the food is contaminated with heavy metals and plastic residues, or the soil is practically dust--it hurts us, chipping away at our health and creating injuries at a physical, psychological, and spiritual level. In degrading the environment, therefore, we degrade ourselves.


4. The reverse is also true. In the process of helping the earth to heal, we help ourselves. If we help reclaim or save what is lost--for instance, through regeneration of degraded forests--the planet will help us in our self-healing and indeed survival.
 Our healthy survival is safe and secure in the future only when we care and love our earth. We need to understand that natural life and beauty of the earth is real treasure and is more valuable than gold or platinum rich resources. We need to understand that Cleaning up the earth must be viewed as part of the evolution of human consciousness. This is not an isolated event .At last I would like to conclude that if we want to truly succeed in healing the earth, we surely will need every person’s efforts , including yours
